Welcome to Virtual TechKnowledgy 2014-2015

by John Eisenberg - Assistant Superintendent of Special Education & Student Services, VDOE

Welcome to the 4th annual Virtual TechKnowledgy Conference! This conference highlights evidence-based practices in assistive technology (AT) and practical AT strategies for students with disabilities. Webinars will be offered throughout the school year, beginning with a keynote on November 5 by Kelly Fonner, a nationally recognized educational and assistive technology trainer and consultant. Her session will be jam packed with AT interventions that can be used to improve student performance and learning in both school and community settings. Two additional webinars will be offered the same week addressing FREE technology tools and electronic books for struggling readers. Visit the conference program to see full descriptions of these sessions and learn about webinars offered in February, April and September.

The Virtual Exhibit Halls with links to vendors and AT resources will be open all year! REGISTRATION IS FREE and Certificates of Participation for licensure renewal will be available following the completion of each webinar!

This conference is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education’s Training and Technical Assistance Centers (T/TAC) in an effort to provide ongoing professional development in the area of assistive technology to practitioners and families supporting students with disabilities.
