Ashley serves as the Teacher for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TBVI) for Botetourt County and Franklin County Public School systems. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bluefield State College with her endorsement in Blind and Visually Impaired from Marshall University. Ashley is currently concluding her studies for her Master’s as well as furthering her course work to receive additional licensure as a teacher for the deaf and/or hard of hearing. Prior to her move to Roanoke, she served as a TBVI at the West Virginia School for the Blind in Romney, West Virginia, where she received additional training in Cortical Vision Impairment from a CVI National Mentor. Ashley is extremely passionate about her field of work and tries her best to use her exuberance to make learning Braille or anything about her profession exciting.
