Digital Accessibility Summer Series: PDF Accessibility Archived
Presented by: Matthew Newton and Gina Martin
Date & Time: Tuesday, July 28, 2020 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

PDF accessibility can be complex and overwhelming. In this webinar, we’ll provide tools to help build your confidence in overcoming the challenges of making PDFs accessible! We will explore how to build accessible PDFs by looking at some beginning steps like basic tagging, alt-text for graphics, and reading order. We will be demonstrating how to make these .pdf accessibility modifications using tools included in Adobe Acrobat software and exploring a few tools for reading these documents.

Whilst AT Network strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so when linking to documents and sites outside of our site. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring these other areas up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime, should you experience any difficulty in accessing the material, please don’t hesitate to contact us at matthewn@vt.edu.
