Shelley Jewell
Director of Occupational Therapy
The Virginia Home

Shelley began her career in a middle school classroom teaching a small class of learners with multiple disabilities. There, she learned about the wide and wonderful world of assistive technology and started to put what she learned into action. After an extra exciting trip to the VCU T/TAC Lending library, Shelley was able to use new and different AT to increase novel interactive opportunities for her students. Fast forward through OT school, several years back working with students in the schools as an OT, and several years supporting teachers and therapists across region 1 and 8 in Virginia with the T/TAC at VCU, Shelley is now the Director of Occupational at The Virginia Home in Richmond, VA. There, she works to use assistive technology to support the valuable occupations of the residents through facilitating meaningful experiences and continued learning opportunities.
