Free Technology Tools for Struggling Readers
Presented by: Jennifer Mitchell
Date & Time: Thursday, November 6, 2014 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET

Unfortunately, students who struggle with reading have a history of failure and usually do not have the background knowledge they need to succeed. Technology can help struggling students become productive, independent, and achieve while accessing the general curriculum. To encourage our students to become life-long learners we should guide them to self-select the technology tools that are most beneficial. This session will demonstrate free and low cost tools that are available to ALL students. We will answer the questions: what reading tools? who can use the tools? and when can the tools be used?

Whilst AT Network strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so when linking to documents and sites outside of our site. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring these other areas up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime, should you experience any difficulty in accessing the material, please don’t hesitate to contact us at matthewn@vt.edu.
