Learn methods, materials and resources for making quick multi-use assistive technology solutions using reusable sustainable plastics and specialty tapes. No need for power tools, glue, nuts or bolts. Participants will create five multi-use assistive technology solutions that can be used in 30 different ways to increase independence for physical, sensory, and cognitive limitations when performing tasks at school, in the home, the workplace and the community.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify at least 10 different materials for rapid AT device creations.
  2. Identify at least 20 different multi-use devices that can be quickly made with reusable plastics and specialty tape.
  3. Fabricate 5 multi-use devices for increasing independence and specific task completion for functional limitations.

Whilst AT Network strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so when linking to documents and sites outside of our site. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring these other areas up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime, should you experience any difficulty in accessing the material, please don’t hesitate to contact us at matthewn@vt.edu.
