Linda Burkhart is an internationally recognized educator and consultant in assistive technology, adaptive play, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for children with significant physical and multiple challenges. She has developed innovative adapted equipment and practical strategies to support communication, learning, and participation. Linda is the author of a number of books and software titles in AAC and assistive technology. She taught special education in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and later served as an Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology Specialist with the Center for Technology in Education, a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland State Department of Education. With more than fifty years of experience, she now works as a private consultant, supporting children, families, and teams and presenting nationally and internationally.
