Conference Program
What is Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) and how does it affect students in the educational environment? What are the unique characteristics of CVI that need to be considered when selecting assistive technology solutions for students with CVI or students with complex needs? How can assistive technology be used to grow literacy, learning, and life skills with effective collaboration between teachers and related service specialists? This session will address these questions and offer resources and recommendations for meeting the unique needs of students with CVI as well as students with complex needs. We will look at several learning tools and AT resources that are designed for individuals with CVI and we will discuss how educational teams may utilize assistive technology effectively for collaboration and learning. Bring your own laptop for a guided experience utilizing the LOOK application from CVI Scotland and the Roman Word Bubbling tool for iPad or computer. Leave with resources for your whole team!
